The UA STAR program is an HVACR service technician certification program backed by the United Association of the Plumbing, Pipefitting and Sprinklerfitting Industry of the United States and Canada, and is the only technician certification program in the HVACR industry that is ANSI accredited and ISO 9000 certified. Since 2002, certified technicians have successfully passed a rigorous exam that ensures they have the training and knowledge necessary to complete the complex tasks associated with servicing, repairing, maintaining, and retrofitting a wide variety of mechanical systems.
MSCA STAR was launched in 2003 as a qualification for service excellence that was awarded to an elite group of mechanical service contractors by the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), the nation's leading trade association representing the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) service contractor. MSCA STAR companies have demonstrated that they offer commercial business and facilities customers unsurpassed support, quality workmanship, and safe and reliable service.
Created in 2007, MSCA GreenSTAR is an achievement designation awarded by the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA), the nation's leading trade association representing the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) service contractor. Mechanical service contractors that have earned this designation are leaders in service excellence that have also proven their commitment to environmental stewardship, promoting sustainability throughout their organizations and within solutions to meet customer needs.
